O.K., here some modern Punk bands I have found that I rather enjoy. I am sure Mandi is familiar with these, and am just curious what some of you others think of them.

Bombshell Rocks - I got the first and third albums. The first one may as well be Rancid, no arguments from anybody on that comparison. But by god, the third album is friggin' awesome! I love the direction they went, and they never get too cheesy with the "unity" and "brotherhood" shit.

Hot Water Music - Listening to one of these albums now, not too bad.

Kill Your Idols - These guys have been around for sometime now, and the album I have "No Gimmicks Needed" is actually a pretty killer disc.

The Riffs - I am shocked that this thing is a new disc! I read the review just a few minutes ago on Veglam, and I agree with all that Frankie had to say.

Ummm, oh yeah, what do you folk think about Tiger Army? Cool stuff.

Thoughts? I think there are a few others I am forgetting...

Bombshell Rocks - I have the first one and agree about the Rancid comparison. I think thats what kinda turned me off. I will have to check out their other stuff now.

Hot Water Music - never heard

Kill Your Idols - I haven't listened to these guys in a while. from what i remember the music was good but the vocals did nothing for me.

The Riffs - never heard of them. i will definitly check them out though.

Tiger Army i'm not really fond of. From the stuff i heard it has too much of a rock-a-billy sound? not exactly rock-a-billy but that type of feeling.

<font size="3" face="Arial">Yeah, the third Bombshell you could NEVER tell is teh same band! Much cooler stuff, and WAY more original. The best way to describe it, it is Billy Joel started writing for The Alarm in a Punk style, and without a piano. Crazy, I know. But there is something about the music that triggers all those names in my head.

The Riffs sound like The Dictators hanging out with Chelsea.

Raggz would like Hot Water Music.

Tiger Army is VERY Rockabilly, which is why I kind of like them. I'm going to the the Brian Setzer Orchestra Christmas Concert this Saturday night!!!

Tiger Army started out as a psychobilly band. It's a totally different genre. Psychobilly is more of the spook stuff, whereas rockabilly is the more happy, not about death stuff. I was heavily into psychobilly for a minute back there, but Tiger Army does nothing for me. A band who did however was Kings of Nuthin
